Ship burial in Asia

A ship burial or boat-shaped burial is a burial in which the coffin or container of the dead is shaped like a boat. At times, the container of the dead is boat-shaped in itself, and sometimes grave goods shaped like boats are also present in the burial site. This kind of burial was common among Germanic peoples, including the Vikings and Scandinavians. But archaeological evidence has shown the presence of these kinds of burials in both mainland and insular Southeast Asia and East Asia.
